Be His Example

by Charles F. Stanley, from Jesus, Our Perfect Hope

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven. — Matthew 5:16

Whether you realize it or not, you’re an example. It doesn’t matter if you think you’re too weak or inadequate to be one — there are people who look up to you and are watching to see how you live. And God wants you to be His representative to them.

Jesus came into this world as a Servant, humbly giving His life so that we would be reconciled to the Father. And God’s will is that we imitate what He did for us by serving others. We perform loving acts of service that meet the spiritual and practical needs of those around us so that they’ll grow closer to Him.

There are so many people around you in need today — not just physically or financially, but emotionally and spiritually as well. Everyone you meet needs someone to encourage him or her. Will you make time to reach out and show them the awesome, unconditional, sacrificial love of Christ? Remember, God sees everything you do in His name and will bless you for all you do in obedience to Him (Hebrews 6:10).

Jesus, show me where I can serve others with Your love and compassion. Work through me to draw others to Yourself. Amen.

My hope is in Jesus because He is worthy of my service.

Blessings Of Being A Part of Jesus’ Church

One of the many blessings of our church is that members really strive to help encourage and lift each other during times of trials and troubles.  I see it and hear about it all the time.  Thanks so very much! While we are smaller than many Christian Churches, the Spirit has given us a deep love for each other, so that Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” becomes a reality in all our lives. For this, I am very thankful, and I know many of you are also very thankful.

We carry each other’s burdens in prayer, and by encouragement through cards, calls, emails and personal visits.  I know Jonnie and I have really felt you all carrying our burdens over the years.

Each one of us in Living Hope Fellowship have been so blessed by other’s prayers…and we have been a blessing to others through our prayers for those within our church and outside our church.  Jesus is using each of us to show His love for others, and helping bring to reality Psalm 51:12 – Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”

►►► We want to continue praying for each other and for our families, friends and co-workers.  So please let Anita Franz know of your prayer requests and she will email or mail them to us.

You are dearly loved & deeply appreciated ~ and always will be ~ for all Eternity      ~ Pastor David & Jonnie

“Jesus is also the real text of our address to God.  We have no speech or language with which to address God but the speech and language called Jesus Christ.  In Him our humanity, our human understanding, our human word are taken up, purified and sanctified, and addressed to God the Father for us as our very own – and that is the word of man with which God is well pleased.” (The Mediation Of Christ by Thomas Torrance pp.78-79)

Found In You

My favorite Christian band is Vertical Church Band, from Harvest Bible Chapel.  One of their songs touches me every time I hear it.  It is the key to living our lives in a fallen world, and dealing with life in the flesh.  Take a look at the words, and ponder them regarding your daily lives and all that you face.  Truly being FOUND IN JESUS is the key.  Here are some of the lyrics:

Found In You  ~ Vertical Church Band

All we want and all we need
Is found in You, found in You
Jesus, every victory
Is found in You, found in You!

Open wide, our hearts now to Yours
Every fear bowed down to Your love
That we would see like never before
Give us a greater glimpse of a never-changing God

All we want and all we need
Is found in You, found in You
Jesus, every victory
Is found in You, found in You!

Jesus Is Our True Identity

Jesus came to restore, redeem and reconcile us, by telling us who he is and who we are in him. We no longer have to search for our true identity. It is restored and given to us as a free gift. We are made in the image of God, we have been reconciled to him in his Son Jesus Christ, and we belong to him once again. We now are called to share in God’s own love and life—to live as his beloved children in the presence and power of his Spirit. “I once was lost but now am found,” and I am looking no further.

Living in my true identity,  Joseph Tkach
