DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOUby Bill Keller

Dear Lord, please help me to live this day honoring you in my thoughts, words, and deeds. Help me this day to live my life pleasing and acceptable to Jesus. Allow me to use my life to help someone else during this day, and be kind to everyone I come across no matter how they may treat me. Let Christ shine through me throughout this day oh Lord, be glorified through my life!

In Jesus name I pray…AMEN!

GCI Haiti Update

As you all know, Charles Fleming and I cancelled our trip to Haiti due to violence and civil unrest.

Here are a couple emails from Haiti:

{1} from Maryse Chancey- Manager of Prince Hotel in Haiti

Hello David

We are sorry to hear about the cancellation of your trip, and thus the cancellation of our stay with us at Prince Hotel. We understand. We hope to see you hopefully in a not so far future.    Please keep us, our staff and family in prayer as well as our country. May the spirit of God take over this land and undo every evil plans for this country.    We are hurting. Pray for us!

Sincerely – Maryse Chancy

{2} From: Joseph Franklin July 12

Greetings my brothers, Charles and David:  Thanks a lot for your prayers…they are most needed in actual conjunctures. Postponing your visit is a wise decision. For the moment because the whole country is in effervescence, they want the President to resign and depart ahead of his term.   Schools closed on June 29th, so most children already fled from the Capital of Port-au-Prince.  We consider those to be more or less safe.

Port-au-Prince is a threatening area. Bloodshed and fire is the daily menu. Many stores are burnt down and super Markets devastated.  WE PRAY…AND WATCH

Blessings  Joseph

Returning from the East  by Max Lucado

Somewhere Oswald Chambers wrote: “Christians must occasionally travel under sealed orders.” Such was the case for a group of us who traveled to China in August. Though we think we know the purpose of the trip, I’m confident that the real orders were seen only by spiritual forces.

Our groups consisted of ministers, representatives of two Christian colleges, a representative of Focus on the Family, a publishing delegate, a lawyer, and John Bentley, the trip facilitator and director of an orphanage in China. Our goal was simple: extend the hand of Christian friendship to high-ranking government officials in China. By his grace we were granted audiences with

– The China Social Service Commission
– The State Department
– The Department of Religion
– The Communist Party Department of International Understanding

Each meeting lasted 45 minutes to an hour. The first three meetings began with prepared speeches from the official explaining China’s position on a variety of matters, but especially religion. The meetings were gracious and hospitable. In each case, our message to them was simple and identical…we extend the hand of goodwill and hope that we can enhance our relationship. We told them that we come more in the name of Jesus than in the name of a country and would like the chance to display the love of Christ through good works in China.

It was no small moment when one of the communist leaders made the statement: “We receive you as ambassadors of the love of Jesus.”

Let me also mention how cooperative the US Embassy has been. Thanks to their intervention, the meetings we feared had fallen through were held. They hosted our delegation at          the embassy and encouraged us to keep up this mission.

I learned so much about the work of God in China:

– Estimates as high as 100 million Christians.

– Persecution in many cases is lessening as the country becomes more open in its understanding. It’s no longer necessary to smuggle Bibles; indeed we visited a Christian book store near the university district of Beijing.

– While the country is known for its Communist regime or exploding economy, fastest in the history of the world, it should be known for its delightful people. The people are so quick to smile and happy to serve. They are, indeed, a special nation… worthy of every effort to tell them about Christ.

From Pastor David:

    Isn’t this wonderful!  While some people say that our God isn’t doing much in this evil world, this proves HE is and always will be.

    Keep praying for our GCI Int’l Mission leaders (see prayer requests for listing of 4 of them), and the Work of Christ wherever it is happening.

    Lord, Thy Kingdom Come.  But remember, we are part of the Kingdom now, and thus are ministering with our King Jesus to those around us now…sharing the Life and Love of Jesus with them.

The Genealogy of Genesis 5

 Ten generations passed from Adam to Noah.

These men bore names that had significant meaning for the time in which they lived, but also their names revealed a message for the world.

Adam  =  man

Seth  =  appointed

Enosh =  mortal

Kenan =  sorrow

Mahalalel  =  the blessed God

Jared  =  shall come down

Enoch  =  teaching

Methuselah  =  his death shall bring

Lamech  =  the despairing

Noah  =  comfort rest

By creating a sentence with the meaning of their names, it would read:

Man (is) appointedmortalsorrow (but) the blessed Godshall come downteaching, his death shall bring ( to) the despairing; comfort (and) rest.

God in his word, used the meaning of these names, to tell the redemptive story of our Savior.  How many more mysteries and surprised are hidden in the pages of scripture?

Pastor David Perry & Jonnie

As Christ-followers, living in a sometimes hard and getting-more-evil culture; and when trials and troubles get us down, we must always know for sure that our God – as Father, Son and Spirit – love us completely.  Here’s a great article on how much our God loves us, by a wonderful theologian, T. F. Torrance. Blessings Pastor David

God Loves Us Completely

by T.F. Torrance                God loves you so utterly and completely that he has given himself for you in Jesus Christ his beloved Son, and has thereby pledged his very Being as God for your salvation. In Jesus Christ God has actualised his unconditional love for you in your human nature in such a once for all way, that he cannot go back upon it without undoing the Incarnation and the Cross and thereby denying himself.

Jesus Christ died for you precisely because you are sinful and utterly unworthy of him, and has thereby already made you his own before and apart from your ever believing in him. He has bound you to himself by his love in a way that he will never let you go, for even if you refuse him and damn yourself in hell his love will never cease.

Therefore, repent and believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. From beginning to end what Jesus Christ has done for you he has done not only as God but as man. He has acted in your place in the whole range of your human life and activity, including your personal decisions, and your responses to God’s love, and even your acts of faith. He has believed for you, fulfilled your human response to God, even made your personal decision for you, so that he acknowledges you before God as one who has already responded to God in him, who has already believed in God through him, and whose personal decision is already implicated in Christ’s self-offering to the Father, in all of which he has been fully and completely accepted by the Father, so that in Jesus Christ you are already accepted by him. Therefore, renounce yourself, take up your cross and follow Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. (The Mediation of Christ, 93-4)Morrison, Stephen D.. T. F.
